Carol Hawkins Maurer Nursing Scholarship
Established in 2013
Established by the family and friends of the late Carol Hawkins Maurer to honor Carol who devoted nearly 40 years of her life to nursing. Awarded to Holmes County residents with demonstrated financial need and academic merit who are pursuing a career in the nursing field. Preference given to those students attending Ashland University, her alma mater.

Christmas Cookie Tour Hospitality Scholarship
Established in 2017
Established by the Holmes County Chamber of Commerce-Amish Country Lodging Council with proceeds from the annual Christmas Cookie Tour. Those eligible for this scholarship must be a Holmes County resident or attend a Holmes County High School. Preference will be given to those pursuing an area of study in Hospitality or a related course of study. Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA or higher and be active in community service activities.

Created by Darb & Tootzi Snyder in memory of John S. Snyder, a former Holmes County teacher and county school board member. Applicants must be West Holmes graduating seniors. West Holmes students who attend the Ashland County-West Holmes Career Center are eligible to apply.

Established in 2021
Established to assist Holmes County undergraduate or graduate students who were graduates of Hiland High School or West Holmes High School. Applicants must be pursuing an associate's, bachelor's, or graduate degree in Education, Agriculture, Music, Business, or Journalism. Preference will be given to those with demonstrated financial need and those attending OSU. Extracurricular activities - especially 4-H, FFA, and FCCLA - a job history, and/or community service will also be considered.

Established by Denco Marketing Company (Dennis & Kathy Schlabach) - Applicant must be a Holmes County, Ohio resident and graduating senior of West Holmes High School who intends to pursue an associate's or bachelor's degree in business or the medical field and has participated in 4-H or FFA. Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated financial need.

Established in 2006 by Elaine Egger Hand to honor her father and to assist Holmes County residents having financial need as they pursue their higher education goals. Those eligible for this scholarship must be Holmes County residents pursuing the field of teaching.

Dr. John H. and Sandra S. Gindlesberger Scholarship
Established in 2020
Established by Dr. John and Sandra Gindlesberger. Applicant must be a Holmes County, Ohio resident and graduating senior of West Holmes High School pursuing a liberal arts undergraduate degree as an on-campus student at one of Ohio's public universities. The student must have had a demonstrated interest in the arts plus a record of community service and/or part-time employment. A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50 is required. Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated financial need.
